About NetBet

A presence on the online gambling market since 2001, NetBet today offers a wealth of games, including those of the casino, Vegas and poker varieties. However, it is the sports betting component that we are giving a - thankfully, favourable - review here.

Nonetheless, NetBet has often been overlooked in favour of many other betting sites. This is a peculiar situation given that, as revealed during our inspection, NetBet has quite a lot to recommend it - including some enticing exclusive features.

Head over to the NetBet webpage listing all of the current promotions for NetBet's sports betting arm, and you are unlikely to be disappointed. When we checked for ourselves, we found that the selection compared well to offerings from other sports betting sites.

NetBet's promotions for its sports bettors are, naturally, prone to change. However, when you look at the promotions section yourself, you shouldn't be surprised to see boosts for a good range of sports. We even spotted a free bet that was available only to mobile bettors.

Sports Betting Types and Betting Markets

If the list of your favourite sports is pretty varied, rest assured that all - or almost all - of those sports are likely to be represented on NetBet's site. Football, horse racing and greyhound racing are among the unsurprising inclusions, as are:

  • Tennis

  • Basketball

  • Cricket

  • Golf

  • Boxing

  • Rugby league

  • Rugby union

However, there are still some more obscure choices that help to make NetBet a great site for hardcore enthusiasts of sports betting. Those more leftfield sports include:

  • Badminton

  • Curling

  • Darts

  • Futsal

  • Surfing

  • Volleyball

Betting Coverage

NetBet provides plenty of in-play betting opportunities

NetBet offers a generous range of in-play opportunities, even dedicating a whole part of its site to these. When we checked, the number and variety of in-play markets at any one time seemed to compare favourably to what rival sports bookmaking sites offered.

Given all of this, it is undoubtedly peculiar that there are no opportunities whatsoever for live streaming on NetBet's site. Furthermore, while the site adapts seamlessly to the relatively small displays of mobile devices, NetBet does not provide a mobile app specifically for its sports bettors, despite offering such apps to its online slots and poker players.

Software and Graphics

As you place a flurry of bets on NetBet's site, you could be pleasantly surprised by how smooth it all feels. Although not always deemed a big name, iSoftBet is the developer responsible for the software on which NetBet's sports betting platform is based.

Where NetBet does not divert quite so strongly from the established sports betting template is in its site's general layout. The largely monochrome colour scheme and straightforward navigation panels all add up to a site that you can get around with little confusion.

Extra Value

As far as we are concerned, one of the best things about sports betting with NetBet is having ready access to the NetBet blog. This is regularly updated with new articles detailing upcoming sports matches and providing tips for how you could effectively bet on them.

The blog also occasionally publishes informative pieces for when you just fancy catching up with peculiar goings-on in the world of sport.

Loyalty or VIP Programme

Surprisingly given how much attention NetBet seems to have lavished on its promotional offerings, the site does not offer a loyalty or VIP scheme for users of its sports betting portal. This is a rather glaring gap in the site’s coverage.

Other Offerings

NetBet's casino offerings are not to be missed

You might fancy having an occasional break from sports betting and spending time trying out such casino games as Northern Sky, Chilli Heat and, of course, Starburst - all of which are available in the NetBet website's casino section.

NetBet also runs a live casino where, as you play, the dealer is a human who you can see through a live video feed. To our surprise, some of the live casino games are NetBet-specific, though others use software from market giant Evolution Gaming.

NetBet also allows its users to sample lottery, Vegas and poker games.

Customer Support

If you want to get in touch with NetBet's customer support team, the process is as simple as clicking ‘Help Centre’ on the site and opting for one of the three contact channels listed under ‘Contact Us’ on the subsequent pop-up window.

The phone number is readily displayed there. Meanwhile, either side of it, there are links to use the Live Chat function, which can be accessed every day between the hours of 9am and 11pm, and an online form through which you can send an email to the site team.

Who Can Play?

Countries from which NetBet accepts customers include:

     United Kingdom

     Republic of Ireland

If you actually succeed in setting up a NetBet account in a country that outlaws online betting, you shouldn't be surprised if NetBet quickly removes your account.

Furthermore, it might not be possible after signing up an account in one of the accepted countries to log into that same account in a restricted territory.

NetBet Enterprises Limited owns and operates what it calls ‘NetBet Website’, which the UK Gambling Commission regulates and licenses for the benefit of the site's UK users.

Bottom Line

NetBet's many years in the online gambling space are certainly evident. The sports betting part of the company's site has a simple and easy-to-use design, while it also has other, pleasingly smooth-running games outside sports betting.

Where NetBet stumbles is in its strange lack of live streaming or, for sports betting specifically, a mobile app. These are gaps seemingly just waiting to be plugged.
